You’ll need a minimum 90L compressor with a pressure of 60 to 70psi, a spray gun with a 6 to 8mm nozzle, a bucket, and a mixing paddle.
Next, it’s time to prepare your surface.
Remove any parts, seals, and glue to create a clean canvas. Clean the surface you want to spray and apply adhesive tape to protect any areas you don’t want to cover with Corkon.
Now for the fun part – Corkon preparation.
Grab your bucket and pour in one unit of Corkon. Add one unit of water and mix thoroughly until the mixture is homogeneous.
Time to get spraying.
Make sure you spray in a well-ventilated area to help with the drying process.
Start with a thin adhesive layer. Let it dry for 6 to 12 hours (depending on the environment and relative humidity).
Follow with a filling layer. Let it dry for 12 to 24 hours (depending on the environment and relative humidity).
Depending on your project or desired usage, you can spray a third and/or fourth layer.
And voila – you’re done!
But if you want to take your Corkon to the next level, here’s a tip: gently sand it with 120/240 grit sandpaper for a smoother and softer finish.
